Description

A perfectly roasted turkey infused with vibrant citrus, savory herbs, and rich broth for an unforgettable Thanksgiving feast.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 whole turkey (1214 pounds)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 oranges, quartered
  • 1 lemon, quartered
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • Fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary, sage)
  • 4 cups chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Remove the giblets from the turkey and pat it dry with paper towels.
  3. Rub the turkey with olive oil and season generously with salt and pepper.
  4. Stuff the cavity with quartered oranges, lemon, onion, and fresh herbs.
  5. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth into the bottom.
  6. Roast for approximately 2.5 to 3 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  7. Baste the turkey with pan drippings every hour.
  8. Let it rest for at least 20 minutes before carving.
  9. Serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

For extra flavor, prepare garlic-herb butter a day in advance and rub it under the skin before roasting.
