Ingredients

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 pounds)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 oranges, quartered
- 1 lemon, quartered
- 1 onion, quartered
- Fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary, sage)
- 4 cups chicken broth
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Remove the giblets from the turkey and pat it dry with paper towels.
- Rub the turkey with olive oil and season generously with salt and pepper.
- Stuff the cavity with quartered oranges, lemon, onion, and fresh herbs.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth into the bottom.
- Roast for approximately 2.5 to 3 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Baste the turkey with pan drippings every hour.
- Let it rest for at least 20 minutes before carving.
- Serve with your favorite sides.
Notes
For extra flavor, prepare garlic-herb butter a day in advance and rub it under the skin before roasting.
