Description

A delightful dessert featuring creamy strawberry mousse layered between airy sponge cake, perfect for any celebration.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup strawberries, pureed
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package gelatin
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Whisk together the eggs and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Fold in the flour and melted butter until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  5. Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  6. Fold in the vanilla extract and sugar to create mousse.
  7. Dissolve the gelatin in warm strawberry puree and mix it into the whipped cream.
  8. Slice the cooled sponge cake in half horizontally.
  9. Layer the mousse between the sponge layers and chill for at least 4 hours.
  10. Serve with fresh strawberry puree on top.

Notes

This mousse cake can be made a day in advance for deeper flavors. Use a premade sponge cake to save time if desired.
