Description
A warm, golden-brown pull-apart garlic bread that combines the tang of sourdough with rich, melty cheese and aromatic garlic.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups sourdough starter (discard)
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Combine the sourdough starter, all-purpose flour, salt, sugar, and garlic powder in a large mixing bowl. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough into a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for about 60 minutes or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) while the dough rises.
- Punch down the risen dough to release air pockets, then divide it into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Dip each dough ball into melted butter, coating it generously, and place them into a greased bundt pan, sprinkling cheese between the layers.
- Sprinkle with chopped parsley and drizzle any leftover melted butter on top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a twist, consider substituting fresh garlic for garlic powder or adding roasted garlic for a sweeter flavor. Fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary could also be used.
