Description

Deliciously soft sourdough sandwich bread perfect for any meal or snack.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Combine the sourdough starter, warm water, and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Stir until fully dissolved.
  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil gradually, mixing until a shaggy dough forms. Allow it to rest for 10 minutes.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let it rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  6. Cover and let it rise again for 30-60 minutes until puffy.
  7. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  9. Let it cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

For deeper flavor development, you can prepare the dough the night before and let it rise in the refrigerator overnight.
