Description

Delightful soft and chewy cinnamon sugar cookies that evoke comfort and nostalgia with every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, around 3-5 minutes.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon together for rolling in a small bowl.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls, coating each in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  8. Place the cookie dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden at the edges with soft centers.
  10. Cool on the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Ensure butter is at room temperature for optimal creaming. Dough can chill for better shape retention while baking.
