- 1 French Bread or Italian Bread
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1/2 cup Bread Crumbs
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
- 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
- 1 cup Marinara Sauce
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs (parsley or oregano) as desired
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the bread by slicing it in half lengthwise and hollowing out some of the inner bread.
- Combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and herbs in a bowl.
- Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about one inch in diameter.
- Cook the meatballs in a skillet over medium heat until browned on the outside.
- Assemble the boats by placing hollowed bread halves on a baking sheet, spreading marinara sauce on each, arranging meatballs on top, and sprinkling mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve warm, optionally garnishing with fresh herbs.
