Description

Delightfully creamy homemade peppermint patties coated in rich chocolate, perfect for the holiday season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar, corn syrup, cocoa powder, peppermint extract, and water. Mix until the consistency is smooth and dough-like.
  2. Roll the mixture into small balls or flatten into patties.
  3. Lay the patties on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate them for 30 minutes.
  4. While the patties chill, melt the chocolate using a double boiler, stirring in coconut oil if desired.
  5. Dip each chilled patty into the melted chocolate, ensuring complete coverage.
  6. Set the coated patties back on the parchment and allow the chocolate to harden completely.
  7. Store the peppermint patties in an airtight container.

Notes

For an even more delightful flavor, consider adding crushed peppermint candies for texture or drizzle with white chocolate for decoration.
