- 2 large flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cheese (Cheddar or cheese blend)
- 1 cup cooked rice (white or brown)
- 1/2 cup black beans (optional)
- 1/2 cup cooked protein (chicken, beef, or tofu)
- 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
- 1/4 cup sour cream (optional)
- 1/4 cup salsa (optional)
- Butter for grilling
Instructions
- Preheat the skillet: Heat your skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Mix the filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked rice, black beans, protein, taco seasoning, and half of the cheese.
- Prepare the tortilla: Lay a tortilla flat and place half of the filling in the center.
- Layer with cheese: Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the filling.
- Fold and roll: Fold in the sides of the tortilla, then roll tightly from the bottom.
- Butter it up: Spread butter on the outside of the burrito.
- Grill to perfection: Place the burrito seam-side down in the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Serve and enjoy: Remove the burrito, slice if desired, and serve warm with sour cream and salsa.
Notes
For a healthier twist, try air frying or baking the burritos instead of grilling. Customize the filling with your favorite ingredients.
