Description

Delightful fat-free cinnamon rolls made with Greek yogurt for a light and fluffy texture, perfect for brunch or breakfast.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze, optional)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for glaze, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Add wet ingredients: Fold in the Greek yogurt and applesauce until a soft dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough: Transfer it onto a lightly floured surface and roll into a rectangle approximately 1/4-inch thick.
  5. Add the filling: Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over the dough.
  6. Shape the rolls: Starting from one end, carefully roll the dough into a tight log and cut it into 1-inch thick slices.
  7. Bake the rolls: Place the slices on the prepared baking sheet, brush them with melted butter, and bake for 15-20 minutes.
  8. Prepare the glaze (optional): Mix the powdered sugar with milk until smooth and drizzle over the warm rolls.
