Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
- Pour 1 cup of warm water into a large bowl. Sprinkle the yeast over it, allowing it to sit for about 5 minutes until it froths.
- Stir in the sugar, salt, and vegetable oil until well-combined.
- Gradually add the flour to the mixture while stirring with a spatula until a shaggy dough forms.
- Dust a clean surface lightly with flour, and then knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough into a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour.
- After an hour, gently punch down the dough to release the air and shape it into a loaf.
- Place the loaf into a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan, cover it again, and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the crust is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
Make-ahead tips: You can prepare the dough in advance and allow it to rise slowly overnight in the refrigerator.
