Description

Delightful cheese scones that are soft, fluffy, and filled with pockets of melted cheese and savory ham, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1/2 cup diced ham
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in cheese and ham until evenly distributed.
  5. Add milk gradually, stirring until a rough dough forms.
  6. Knead the dough gently on a floured surface.
  7. Roll out to 1 inch thickness and cut into desired shapes.
  8. Place scones on a baking sheet, sprinkle with cheese, and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Refrigerate cut scones for up to 24 hours before baking. You can also freeze the dough for later use.
