- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Rice paper wrappers
- Vegetables for filling (shredded carrots, cucumber strips)
- For dipping sauce: ½ cup hoisin sauce, 2 tablespoons peanut butter, dash of lime juice
Instructions
- In a non-stick skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, stirring gently. Drain excess fat.
- Add garlic, soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Mix well and cook for a couple of minutes. Stir in fresh Thai basil and remove from heat.
- Soften the rice paper wrappers according to package instructions.
- Lay a softened rice paper wrapper on a flat surface. Add a small amount of the beef mixture and optional crunchy vegetables.
- Fold the sides in and roll tightly from the bottom up.
- For the dipping sauce, combine hoisin sauce, peanut butter, and lime juice in a bowl; whisk until smooth.
- Serve the rolls on a plate with the dipping sauce.
