Description

Ingredients

  • 4 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel and chop the sweet potatoes into even chunks to ensure uniform cooking.
  3. Boil the sweet potato chunks in salted water until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  4. Drain the sweet potatoes and return them to the pot. Let them steam briefly to remove excess moisture.
  5. Stir in the milk, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, then mash until smooth and creamy.
  6. Spread the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  7. Melt the butter in a bowl and combine it with the chopped walnuts and breadcrumbs.
  8. Sprinkle the topping over the sweet potato mixture.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the topping turns golden brown and crisp.
