- 1/2 cup pizza sauce or crushed San Marzano tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup cooked spicy Italian sausage (crumbled)
- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Hot honey, for drizzling
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place your pizza stone or baking sheet inside.
- Roll out the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll your dough to your preferred thickness.
- Transfer the Pizza: Move the rolled dough onto a parchment-lined pizza peel or baking sheet.
- Build the Base: Spread pizza sauce over the crust, sprinkle shredded mozzarella, crumbled sausage, and dollops of ricotta. Add red pepper flakes if desired.
- Bake and Drizzle: Drizzle olive oil over the top, slide your pizza onto the hot stone or sheet, and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Drizzle with hot honey and garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
For a crispier crust, pre-bake the crust for 5 minutes before adding toppings. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
