A delicious and elegant pear tart that combines the sweetness of ripe pears with a buttery crust and a hint of spice.

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup ice water
- 4 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in ice water, a tablespoon at a time, until mixture forms a ball. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface and fit it into a tart pan.
- In a separate bowl, toss the sliced pears with lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar.
- Arrange the pear mixture in the tart shell.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the pears are tender and the crust is golden brown.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
- Pair with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
