- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup cooked breakfast sausage, crumbled
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 1/2 cup scrambled eggs (about 2 large eggs)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder.
- Cut in the cold, cubed butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the milk and egg; then pour into the flour mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
- Roll the dough to about 1/4-inch thickness and cut into 6-8 rectangles.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, scrambled eggs, shredded cheese, and Dijon mustard.
- Spoon the filling onto one half of each rectangle, fold the dough, and seal the edges with a fork.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
