Description

A delicious and comforting dish featuring savory ground beef, melty cheeses, and crispy tater tots topped with fresh vegetables and bacon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup American cheese, shredded (or Velveeta cubes)
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • 6 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup diced pickles
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Ranch or burger sauce for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F. Grease a 9×13 baking dish liberally.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it into small pieces. Add the diced onion and continue cooking until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; cook for another minute.
  3. Combine the softened cream cheese with half of the cheddar and half of the American cheese in a mixing bowl until well blended. Spread this mixture evenly in the bottom of your prepared baking dish.
  4. Top with the beef mixture, then sprinkle the remaining cheddar and American cheese over the beef. Add half of the crumbled bacon on top.
  5. Arrange the tater tots in a single layer on top, ensuring they do not overlap. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the remaining bacon, diced tomatoes, pickles, and chopped green onions. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving. Drizzle with ranch or burger sauce.

Notes

Grease your baking dish well to prevent sticking. Prepare ingredients ahead of time for easier assembly.
