- 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large egg yolks
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
- ½ cup key lime juice
- 1 teaspoon lime zest
- Whipped cream for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar until combined.
- Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a pie dish to form the crust.
- Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden, then remove from the oven and let cool.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk, key lime juice, and lime zest until smooth.
- Pour the filling into the cooled crust.
- Bake for an additional 15 minutes, then remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours before serving.
- Top with whipped cream if desired before serving.
Notes
- For a more intense lime flavor, use fresh key limes instead of bottled juice.
- Make sure to let the pie chill completely for the best texture.
- This pie can be made a day in advance for convenience.
