Description

A delicious and tangy dessert made with key lime juice, sweetened condensed milk, and a graham cracker crust.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup key lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • Whipped cream for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar until combined.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a pie dish to form the crust.
  4. Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden, then remove from the oven and let cool.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk, key lime juice, and lime zest until smooth.
  6. Pour the filling into the cooled crust.
  7. Bake for an additional 15 minutes, then remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours before serving.
  9. Top with whipped cream if desired before serving.

Notes

  • For a more intense lime flavor, use fresh key limes instead of bottled juice.
  • Make sure to let the pie chill completely for the best texture.
  • This pie can be made a day in advance for convenience.
