Description

A delicious and low-carb dish featuring shrimp and sausage stuffed in cabbage leaves, seasoned with Cajun spices.


Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cabbage
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and blanch the cabbage leaves for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
  4. Add the smoked sausage and cook until browned.
  5. Stir in the shrimp, diced tomatoes, and Cajun seasoning; cook until shrimp are pink.
  6. Remove from heat and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Place a portion of the shrimp and sausage mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll tightly.
  8. Arrange the stuffed cabbage rolls in a baking dish and cover with foil.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until heated through.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add some cheese on top before baking.
  • Feel free to adjust the level of Cajun seasoning to your taste.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
