Description

Delight in homemade Greek yogurt bagels, featuring a golden-brown exterior and tender, chewy interior enriched with creamy Greek yogurt. Perfect for any breakfast or brunch occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt and self-rising flour; stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces and shape each into a bagel by rolling into a rope and joining the ends together.
  5. Place the bagels on a greased baking sheet, ensuring they don’t touch.
  6. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds or seasoning.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let cool on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

These bagels freeze beautifully. Bake, cool completely, wrap tightly, and reheat for a fresh-baked taste any time.
