- 2 lbs beef chuck roast
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Place the beef chuck roast in the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Pour the sauce over the beef in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours, until the beef is tender.
- Once cooked, shred the beef with two forks and mix it with the sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
Notes
- For a thicker sauce, remove the beef after cooking and reduce the sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Serve with steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and reheated for convenience.
