Description

Deliciously soft and fluffy cinnamon rolls topped with a creamy icing, perfect for breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add sugar, butter, eggs, and salt to the yeast mixture and mix well.
  3. Gradually add flour until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread softened butter over it.
  7. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly on top.
  8. Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 equal pieces.
  9. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. For the icing, mix powdered sugar, cream cheese, and vanilla until smooth and drizzle over warm rolls.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add nuts or raisins to the filling.
  • These rolls can be made ahead and frozen before baking.
  • Adjust the amount of cinnamon according to your taste preference.
