Description

A luxurious cauliflower dish enveloped in creamy cheese sauce and topped with crispy breadcrumbs, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 head cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder, paprika for seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Bring salted water to a boil in a large pot and cook the cauliflower until tender but firm, about 5-7 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then stir in the flour to make a roux.
  4. Whisk in the milk gradually, cooking until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheese. Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
  6. Combine the cooked cauliflower with the cheese sauce in a baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle panko breadcrumbs on top.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

You can prepare the cauliflower and cheese sauce a day in advance and assemble just before baking.
