Description

Delicious candied yams with a rich, buttery syrup that will elevate your meal into something extraordinary.


Ingredients

  • 3 large Sweet Potatoes, peeled and sliced into 1/4 inch rounds
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • Pinch of Salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel and slice the sweet potatoes into uniform rounds, about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. In a large pot over medium heat, combine the butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, water, and salt.
  4. Cook gently until the mixture thickens and the sugar completely dissolves.
  5. Add the sliced sweet potatoes to the pot, stirring gently to coat each round thoroughly in the syrup.
  6. Transfer the sweet potatoes into a baking dish, pouring any remaining syrup over the top.
  7. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. After 30 minutes, uncover the dish and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!
