A rich and indulgent bread pudding drizzled with a warm whiskey sauce, perfect for dessert lovers.

- 6 cups of day-old bread, cubed
- 4 cups of milk
- 1 cup of sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 cup of raisins (optional)
- 1/2 cup of whiskey
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1/2 cup of heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread and milk, allowing it to soak for about 15 minutes.
- In another bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
- Mix the egg mixture into the soaked bread until well combined.
- If using, fold in the raisins.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until set.
- While the pudding is baking, prepare the whiskey sauce by melting the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the brown sugar and heavy cream to the melted butter, stirring until smooth.
- Stir in the whiskey and let the sauce simmer for a few minutes.
- Once the bread pudding is done, serve warm with the whiskey sauce drizzled on top.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use brioche or challah bread.
- Adjust the amount of whiskey in the sauce according to your taste.
- This dessert can be made a day in advance and reheated before serving.
