Delicious and fluffy rolls filled with a creamy blueberry cheesecake filling, perfect for breakfast or dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar (for filling)
- 1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, and egg. Stir wet mixture into dry ingredients until combined. Knead dough for 5-10 minutes until smooth; let rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Spread cream cheese over dough, sprinkle with sugar, and scatter blueberries on top.
- Roll dough tightly into a log, pinch seams, and cut into 1-inch slices. Place rolls in a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- While baking, whisk together powdered sugar and milk for icing.
- Drizzle icing over warm rolls and serve.
Notes
For added flavor, consider adding lemon zest to the filling or using Greek yogurt instead of cream cheese. If using frozen blueberries, thaw and drain them to avoid excess moisture.
