Bananas Foster is a delicious dessert made with bananas, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and rum, served over vanilla ice cream.

- 4 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup dark rum
- Vanilla ice cream for serving
Instructions
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the brown sugar and cinnamon, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
- Slice the bananas in half lengthwise and add them to the skillet.
- Cook the bananas for about 2 minutes on each side until they are caramelized.
- Carefully add the rum to the skillet and ignite it with a long lighter to flambé.
- Once the flames subside, remove the skillet from heat.
- Serve the bananas over scoops of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
- Be cautious when flambéing; keep a fire extinguisher nearby.
- For a non-alcoholic version, omit the rum.
- Serve immediately for the best experience.
