Description

Indulge in fluffy banana waffles smothered in a luscious caramel topping for a delightful breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (for caramel topping)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for caramel topping)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until mostly smooth but slightly chunky for texture.
  3. Combine all-purpose flour, baking powder, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract into the bowl. Mix gently until just combined.
  4. Lightly grease the preheated waffle iron and pour in the batter, cooking until golden brown (about 5 minutes).
  5. In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar and heavy cream over medium heat, stirring until it bubbles and thickens (about 5 minutes).
  6. Plate the waffles and generously drizzle the warm caramel sauce over the tops.

Notes

Serve with fresh fruits, maple syrup, or whipped cream. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to three days or frozen for a month.
