Description

Delicious apple brownies topped with a sweet maple glaze, perfect for dessert or a snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup grated apples
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine melted butter and sugar, then add eggs and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Fold in the grated apples and walnuts if using.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. While the brownies are baking, prepare the maple glaze by mixing powdered sugar and maple syrup until smooth.
  9. Once the brownies are done, let them cool before drizzling the maple glaze on top.
  10. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • For a richer flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon to the batter.
  • These brownies can be served warm or at room temperature.
